Bisca recently designed and built a bespoke staircase to align with a renovated Georgian inspired property.
The brief to create a more spacious entrance hall was met by a re-positioning the staircase and creating a contemporary, elegant stair with a comfortable rise and generous going. Using Bisca’s extensive reference library to work through all available options, the clients were able to find exactly what they were looking for.
The design includes white painted treads to match the overall interior scheme finished with a classic edge profile which provides a contrast with the herringbone flooring. The forged steel uprights are swaged, a forged process that gives the texture of wrought iron and finished with hot wax. The elements work together with a unique reverse taper newel. An oval profile stained handrail flows around the landing edge and down the stair before ending in feature volutes at the foot.
