Stuart Forbes Associates (SFA) has added to its burgeoning hotel and entertainment division by its association with Spring restaurant, which opens tomorrow (14th October 2014) in the newly refurbished west wing of Somerset House; one of London’s most significant buildings.
The concept and operational layout of Spring has been achieved by SFA skilfully manipulating the existing building fabric to ensure it happily absorbs the demands of its modern new function. The restaurant occupies three levels of the northern section of the west wing. It features a grand light- filled dining room on the ground floor and a beautiful covered garden room, which has been created in the central light well of the building. The dining room and garden spaces have been created with a calmness and classic elegance befitting of a building of such historic importance.
Through its re-design in 2008 of the acclaimed River Café in Hammersmith, London and the development of Spring, SFA has shown a great awareness of the functional demands of high quality restaurant spaces and the meticulous planning that is required to create a successful venue.
Stuart Forbes, Managing Director, SFA commented: “At SFA, we believe that for a high-end restaurant like Spring to succeed, the customer experience must be considered in a completely holistic way and certainly has to match the excellence of the culinary experience. Our goal for our clients is to develop a design solution, which not only creates a gold standard customer experience, but also creates a solid foundation for a healthy sustainable business”
Stuart also commented on SFA’s vision in this vibrant sector: “Our desire would be to continue growing this side of the practice’s business to undertake larger-scale hotel and entertainment projects. I believe that what we offer is a unique understanding of the dynamics of the restaurant business and our ability to interpret and develop a brief that ensures an exemplary outcome for our clients, their customers and for the practice.”
