Stars for Syria

Cutting Technologies helped set the scene for a star-studded charity event, which raised �750,000 to help children in the world’s most dangerous war zones. The laser cutting and engraving specialist used its expertise to create unique decorative features for the War Child Winter Wassail – a festive banquet and concert curated by international actor Carey Mulligan alongside award winning musician Marcus Mumford. The VIP event held at London’s One Mayfair raised a six-figure sum, which War Child will use to protect children in war-torn places like Syria, Iraq and Uganda. Cutting Technologies was contracted by leading events design agency, The Events Mill, to laser cut and engrave a range of décor and table accessories for the Wassail. The Barnsley based company offered its support on a pro bono basis, keen to help the charity in any way it could. Using annealed shiny stainless steel, Cutting Technologies laser cut canapé trays and decorative cubes which held tea lights and carried food. Using the same material, Cutting Technologies also laser engraved individual table markers. The team also laser cut metallic trees as part of a stunning flower-laden entrance to the event.
