This year, Marylebone will host its own design district during the London Design Festival 2018 – Marylebone Design District.
Marylebone’s grid of attractive Georgian streets, packed with characterful period buildings, provides both space and inspiration for a genuinely diverse and impressive collection of design retailers, galleries and workshops.
From interiors to millinery, jewellery to furniture, this established area boasts some serious creative credentials, including both internationally famous brands and smaller, independent studios and boutiques.
Many of the well-known retailers and design shops on Marylebone High Street, Crawford Street, Chiltern Street and others in the surrounding neighbourhood, such as Selfridges on Oxford Street, will become partners of the Marylebone Design District.
Over the course of the festival, partners will be hosting workshops, demonstrations and launches, with the official kick-off around Marylebone’s festival day, Wednesday 19 September.
Marylebone Design District is coordinated by The Howard de Walden Estate and The Portman Estate, the two central London estates that together protect and promote the wider Marylebone area for the benefit of residents, businesses and visitors.
