Rima Tatjana Interiors recently completed a private residential project where the wellness areas take centre stage.
Rima Tatjana Interiors approach design in a holistic manner to support mind, body and soul. We caught up with Rima to discuss a recently completed project, a private London home, which has vast areas dedicated to wellness and relaxation.
What was the brief for this project?
Being a large private home, the scope was fairly broad; family living and dining spaces overlooking the garden, areas for entertaining friends, a cinema room for the young adults and parents alike, and finally a wellness area for all family members to enjoy. As you may be aware, for many clients, fitness and health is also about having moments of relaxation and contemplative time at home. As a result, many areas within homes are now dedicated to Wellness. In this residential project a sauna, a steam room, a home gym and a massage Room were incorporated into the wellness areas.
How did you decide on your colour scheme for this project?
Connecting with nature was paramount; be it visual or actual. Earthy tones and natural materials were used to create a melody of nature within the various spaces.
A large water lily inspired chandelier hangs from the double height gallery reminiscent of aqueous nature.
Can you talk about the use of materials throughout?
Honed natural stone adorns the floor in the wellness areas and mother of pearl glistens in the herringbone walnut floor on the upper floors.
How did you make use of sensory design elements?
Through a Smart home automation system commissioned by our sister company Macrohat, our client’s home technology was set in place. Multi- room Audio systems along with Smart Lighting systems set the tone within all zones of the property. Calm and meditative in the wellness zones and more upbeat vibes within the entertainment spaces.
