Design studio Yodezeen created an atmospheric and light-filled private office with quality fixtures and bespoke finishes, reflecting their client’s personality.
Multi-award-winning architecture and design studio Yodezeen were commissioned to transform a private office space located in the Chicago Central House residential complex in the centre of Kyiv, Ukraine.
The Yodezeen team approached the project with the desire to transform the space into a design that would reflect the client’s personality and style whilst also remaining a soulful space. The goal was to convey the light atmosphere and mood that was felt in the client’s company.
To transform the space into an updated office scheme, the team completely reimagined the development and layout of the main load-bearing walls and proposed zoning that would fully meet the logistical needs of a private notary’s office. The office consists of a hall with a reception area, a meeting room, a personal office, a kitchen, and an office for employees — and thanks to the interior palette, light gently flows from each zone.
The main request from the client was to develop a design concept that fully reflected their lifestyle. This is manifested in everything: from the professional conduct of business, sitting in a high-end Italian chair at a substantial table, to the selection of a warm color palette to match the client’s nature. To showcase the philosophy of the client, the Yodezeen team selected only the highest quality materials such as natural wood, brass, and marble.
The design team also managed to combine classic elements such as stucco moulding, brass, and window shutters with a restrained warm interior – restrained because it is created from tones and textures that are easy to perceive, it has the correct elegant geometry of the room, personifying the image of the client. The team decorated the windows with horizontal shutters so that they could play with the light and adjust the atmosphere to the mood and time of day.
Projects completed by Yodezeen usually incoporate a large number of bespoke touches, and this office is no exception; all of the areas in the space are meaningful and individual. The brass shelving unit and wooden shelf, the reception desk, the wall panels, and the marble wash basins, all give the interior an architectural touch. The reception area is an example of a complex joining of different materials; the frame was sheathed with stone on one side, brass on the other, and supplemented with a leather overlay on a massive tabletop.
The office also features a careful selection of ready-made pieces; for example, in the hallway area and the client’s personal office, the team installed a brass light composition around the perimeter of the ceiling – this piece came in handy and beautifully emphasized the space. The client’s personal office also features a magnificent Emmemobili table, like a work of art, thanks to its carved legs – its exclusive design concept is a synthesis of classic style in all its richness and rational geometry of modernity. In the employees’ room, you can see an amazing lighting composition in the form of a sphere from the designer Davide Groppi called Moon, which fills this room with its warm glow. Each design piece that appears in the Luna project has been carefully selected to resonate with the smooth design concept and the client’s personality, providing both light and inspiration.
