Akka Interiors Studio have created a tranquil and elegant apartment with natural motifs in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Akka Interiors Studio have recently completed a bespoke residence crafted for a client with a zest for travel and a deep cultural heritage. This dynamic young woman’s lifestyle and her profound connection to her homeland injected a unique vigor into the design ethos, shaping the foundational narrative of the project.
Founded by designers Aizhana Kunayeva and Aidana Koshumbayeva, Akka Interiors Studio are known for their meticulous attention to detail and personalised approach. With this project they aspired to create an environment where tranquility and elegance coalesce, avoiding the trap of superfluous ornamentation. Central to their vision was catering to the diverse needs of the client’s children, ensuring each space was a reflection of their individual personalities while achieving an overarching aesthetic unity across the residence.
The designers embarked on an ambitious task of merging two distinct apartments into a singular, cohesive entity. The resulting space, enveloped in natural light owing to strategically placed windows, exudes warmth and a welcoming aura, crucial for a family-oriented home. The apartment’s adaptive nature, supplemented by cutting-edge smart home technology and multi-functional design elements, underscores the studio’s commitment to modern, livable luxury.
The heart of this space is the amalgamation of the kitchen and living area, intentionally designed to foster a sense of community and interaction. Eschewing the traditional dining setup, the kitchen boasts a chic bar counter, a focal point for familial bonding and hospitality.
The living room transforms into an elegant haven for relaxation and discourse, adorned with a spacious corner sofa, plush chairs, and graced with panoramic windows framing the majestic Almaty skyline. Subtle luxury is evoked through the inclusion of glazed display cabinets and a bio fireplace, culminating in a room that balances sophistication with warmth.
The master suite is a space to serene luxury, where floor-to-ceiling windows not only bathe the room in sunlight but also frame the picturesque landscape, establishing an ambiance of calm and repose. It features a generously sized dressing room and an en-suite bathroom, complemented by a discreet work area, seamlessly integrated into the space.
Each teenager’s bedroom is a bespoke creation, mirroring their unique individuality. The boy’s quarters, characterized by structured design and a soothing color scheme, exude a composed masculinity. In contrast, the daughters’ and mother’s rooms are imbued with softer design elements, where gentle asymmetries introduce a fluid charm. The thoughtful provision of individual dressing rooms adds a layer of personal luxury to each space.
Completing this architectural concept are four exquisitely designed bathrooms and a fully equipped laundry room, ensuring functional elegance is at the core of the family’s daily life.
This project is a harmonious blend of the indoors with the natural landscape, a theme echoed in the carefully curated color palette. This apartment stands as a testament to Akka Interiors Studio’s philosophy of designing spaces that resonate with inner peace and harmony, reflecting the unique story and cultural tapestry of its inhabitants.
