Purifying paint brand Graphenstone partners with Kate Watson-Smyth on new ‘Italian’ inspired colour collection

Grapenstone, one of the most widely certified paint brands in the world has collaborated with interiors influencer, blogger, and author Kate Watson Smyth of ‘Mad About the House’ on a new collection of paints initially created for Kate’s new dream home in Piedmont, Italy. The collection of 12 colours combines the deeply romantic shades of Northern Italy with the softer palette of the British countryside.

The evocative range features 12 new colours which have been used extensively throughout the six-bedroom villa. Each of the colours has been named and ‘nod’ to their individual inspirations such as ‘Barolo’, a deep red which takes its cue from the regions famous Piedmont wine, ‘Gelato’ a soft yet richly pigmented plaster pink, or “Ortensia’ and ‘Giardino’, which both reflect the vibrant hydrangeas and shrubbery found in the garden of the noble villa Kate now calls home. The overall palette has been carefully curated to allow for multiple colour combinations, with something to suit all interior design tastes.

Patrick Folkes, founder Graphenstone UK said, “We are huge fans of Mad About the House and so inspired by Kate’s Italian adventure which led to her finding her dream home.  We have worked closely together and are delighted to bring this colour collection to launch from our Norfolk factory. Using Kate’s unique interiors know how and trained eye, the palette is exquisite and works beautifully with Graphenstone’s sustainable ingredients and raw materials – one of the most certified ‘harm-free’ paints in the world.”

Graphenstone’s artisanal lime and graphene-based formulations work brilliantly when used older or heritage properties, as they allow surfaces to breathe, and actively contribute to air purification and CO2 absorption.

Kate said, “To create a bespoke palette of colours inspired by my very own Italian home and in a paint that is both kind to both people and the planet is a dream come true, and my very own slice of ‘La Dolce Vita’. Having been an interior’s writer and commentator for the past 20 years I really have studied every colour palette – The Italian Collection created with Graphenstone really does combine everything you will ever need alongside being a natural mineral-based paint, better for the planet and healthier to live with”

The Italian collection is available to buy online at www.graphenstone-ecopaints.store

As part of its ongoing green business strategy, Graphenstone will now also plant a tree for every online order (including colour cards, and the new paint swatch patches), in partnership with Switch2Zero, a leading pioneer in sustainable technology solutions.
