Louis De Poortere has introduced four new designs into Antiquarian, one of the most popular collections in its 100% recyclable Ecorugs.
Antiquarian is a collection of Ecorugs designs inspired by the rich and long heritage of rug and textile craftsmanship. With styles rooted in cultural significance and the artistry and regionality of traditional weaving, it is an eclectic array of designs that’s now welcoming in four new patterns.
For 2025, Ecorugs maker Louis De Poortere, has added Suzani, Tabriz, Antalia and Kasak, all available in a range of colourways and six standard Ecorugs sizes. All designs are made from 40% recycled polyester (up from 20% in 2024) and can be fully recycled through the Belgian weaver’s simple to use free Take Care programme.
Suzani is a vibrant reimagination of traditional embroidery from central Asia that draws from a rich tapestry of ancient motifs from traditional Suzani patterns. The motifs are symbolic too: circles for eternity, pomegranates for fertility and geometric shapes for protection. Suzani comes in colourways that celebrate these vibrant designs in a palette for modern sensibilities.
In Tabriz, Louis De Poortere has taken Persian design, a signature for the brand, and added a modern twist. Its three colours stay true to its Iranian roots but present a contemporary monochromatic palette and layers of nuance for a sophisticated, elegant style.
For the three designs of Kasak, the weaver has been inspired by the striking geometrics and vibrancy of traditional Caucasian rugs. Renowned for their cultural depth and enduring elegance, Louis De Poortere’s designers have blended the symbolism with a modern aesthetic and a palette of rich reds, earthy tones and ivory.
Antalia’s single design is a recreation of an antique shop find that has been reinvigorated with a fresh, minimalist interpretation. Meeting vintage charm with modern sophistication, the rug feels perfectly at home in today’s interiors.
