Baker began collaborating with Smith in 2010 from which spun a lifestyle collection inspired by his love affair with traditional form and the craft of furniture-making, creatively infused with an easy comfort that belies its traditional roots. Smith’s nod to English Regency and French Empire design is captured in his Martine Cabinet, its understated demeanor and versatile nature the perfect foil for its high-gloss lacquer finish, offered in a choice of Oxblood or Vintage Black. Casting his attention on the intricate beauty of Russian Empire design, Smith brings to Baker a writing desk of intricate detail. The Winthrop Writing Desk is crafted from mahogany solids and fine mahogany veneers and comes standard in either the smoky brown Cuban or golden Ale finishes. Traditional in form, versatile in function, and scaled to accommodate even the smallest space is the Sarah Tier Table. Three ovals that comprise the top and two lower shelves are joined by four slender metal supports that carry through the form.
