Formerly known as Company House, the building was built back in 1865 and used as a brewery. The striking Grade II Listed building has been remodelled to house quirky office space. The refurbishment has been undertaken with great care to try to retain as many original features as possible. Creating a comfortable, yet stylish working environment was top priority in the conversion of the building into offices. One of the main issues was heat loss from the draughty original primary build. Thermal efficiency was improved by using high performing secondary glazing, which traps an insulating layer of air cutting heat loss by about 40-50 per cent. In addition, the building has also benefited from sound insulation. Over 100 units were installed using five different Selectaglaze systems, including attractive large curved head windows, colour matched to the primary windows. Established in 1966 and granted a Royal Warrant in 2004, it is the leading specialist in secondary glazing.
