Carlo Pazolini Milan has received the highest honour in the prestigious international competition, Red Dot: Product Design Awards. The project by Giorgio Borruso Design has been awarded the prestigious distinction of ’Best of the Best’ at the Red Dot: Product Design Awards.
The Red Dot Design Awards are given out annually as a part of an international competition that recognises innovative and sophisticated design projects and products from a number of fields, including communication design, industrial design and architecture.
1,800 companies and designers from 58 countries submitted over 4,500 entries, within the competition’s 19 different categories, to be judged by a panel of 30 international design experts. Of these entries, only 62 projects are chosen to receive the Best of the Best designation. Other Best of the Best winners this year include the Apple ipad2, Nikon 1 digital camera and Porsche 911 Carrera.
A gala awards ceremony honouring the winners took place at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany on July 2, 2012, followed by the opening of ‘Design on Stage’ at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen. Winning products and projects will also be exhibited at the Red Dot Museum in Singapore.
