Award-winning fish and chip shop Kerbisher & Malt has just opened the doors of a second restaurant, bringing London’s finest fish and chips to the increasingly foodie scene of Ealing. The new space was designed by interior design specialist, Alexander Waterworth.
The new site retains the relaxed and informal feel of the original in Brook Green, however it is very much an evolved model: customers at the 60-cover restaurant can book in advance, enjoy table service and dine al fresco on sunny days, and of course get fresh fish and chips to take away.
Like its sister restaurant, the new venue offers a menu of both traditional and modern dishes, focused on fresh produce including sustainable fish.
Alexander Waterworth has designed a space that is sleek yet comfortable; bold blue banquettes, exposed brickwork, quirky sketches on the walls and warm wood panelling and table tops evoke a sense of the modern British seaside at its best. The take-away area is cleverly separated from the main restaurant, allowing an increased level of ambience and service.
Kerbisher & Malt director, Nick Crossley, commented: “We’re delighted with the new site, as we want each Kerbisher & Malt to have its own distinct personality and we really feel we’ve achieved that here. Ealing is a unique area with a vibrant food scene these days, so we are in excellent company.”
