Junckers has added a new solid wood floor to its popular range of textured finishes. Textured Oiled Black Oak has a matt finish with a tactile, textured surface. Using a special hard-brushing technique developed by Junckers, the softer sapwood on the surface of the timber is removed to reveal the darker and tougher heartwood, exposing the raised, natural grain structure. Junckers’ Black Oak recreates the appearance of the much sought after ‘bog oak’ where ancient oak trees preserved beneath peat bogs for many years emerge with a similar through and through black colour. By mimicking the natural process, Junckers has created a true dark, solid hardwood floor, which can be sanded and refinished several times.
